I didn’t realise that there was a Texas cavalry regiment that fought on the Union side in the Civil War.
There's a new book, scheduled to be released sometime this year, by Rick McCaslin and J. Wayne Stewart titled "Texan in Blue: Captain Francis Ashbury Vaughan of the First Texas Cavalry USA."
I hope they never had to fight against each other.
