Howdy, y’all. Welcome to this special edition of Y’allogy. Introducing my new literary western: Blood Touching Blood, now available in hardback and e-book editions at Amazon.
Set on the Texas frontier, in the high desert of far West Texas, against the backdrop of the Apache Wars, Blood Touching Blood probes the mystery of how violence begets violence, how the lust for vengeance hollows out the human soul, and whether one who gives himself to such dark designs can find redemption.
I thought I’d read a small passage from the book, on the back cover.
I was reading the other day and stumbled over something I’d not seen before—or had forgotten. It said sinners like me, whose hands are dipped in blood, are damned and the land over which they trod is desolate. Blood toucheth blood is how the Book put it. The gore soaked soil causes the land to mourn and those who dwell therein to languish. If ever there was a land that had a right to mourn, it is the dirt of that woeful place. Only God knows how many have languished upon it and under it.
